Dawn Wallace & Family

We have been at Crosstown for eleven years. My three children (Jon, Jimmy, and Emily) all volunteer and help in the Media Ministry. I have been the media director for nine years. The media team's vision is to see media implemented in the services in a dynamic yet friendly manner. I oversee the development and coordination of the video ministry. If you feel like God is calling you into media ministry, our team is always looking for volunteers with a servant's heart in the following areas:

  • Oversee the creation of service presentations
  • Preparation of slides in cooperation with the Pastor and Music Pastor.
  •
Assist staff members and volunteer leaders with their media needs.
  • Selection, recommendation and purchasing of media related equipment.
  • Troubleshooting of video/audio equipment.
  • Video production, acquisition, editing, shooting, script writing, and layout.
  • Oversee web page and IT areas
  • Graphic Designer/Photographer/Print designer

Media ministry, as with all ministries, is not about our abilities or us, but it is all about serving Jesus Christ and serving others.  By showing up to operate sound or video equipment or making publications you are not doing the pastor, technical director, or worship leader any favors.  If you come in with that kind of mindset, then it becomes about you.  It becomes an issue of selfish ambition and pride.

In the mindset of serving God and serving others, I believe there is nothing wrong with being pleased with your accomplishments.  If you are doing a great job mixing a service or produced a video that ministered to the people, then you can be proud of that because you did it as a representative of Jesus Christ. I believe to always do everything in the spirit of excellence.
